Here's How It Works...

Since 1955 the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce, with generous support from our business members, has sponsored the Long Beach Island Surf Fishing Classic.

More than 980 anglers registered last year. During the six-week tournament, anglers weigh in striped bass and bluefish to compete for tournament-sponsored daily, weekly, segment, and grand prizes.

Our anglers especially enjoy the competition for the special prizes and awards presented by businesses, fishing clubs, and Long Beach Island Surf Fishing Tournament participants and supporters.

Donate a prize (cash, gift certificates, merchandise, etc.) and specify the criteria for winning the prize. You can even tell us the day you would like the prize to be awarded.

Here are some ideas:

Prize can be awarded for bass and/or bluefish. Largest, smallest, anything in between.

Give a prize for the Surf Fishing Clinic, every day, once a week, or on a specific date—you decide.

Give your prize to a juvenile (14 and under), a student (15 to 18), a senior citizen, a woman, or any registered angler.

Give your prize a name. We have memorial prizes, holiday prizes, “Good Luck” prizes—whatever you can think of.
